Easy Winter Hair Care Tips!

Winter is approaching ladies! As the Temperature drops so does our moisture levels which is why we need to take special care to our tresses . Not only a change in weather is approaching but also this season calls for a important change in your hair care regimen. Summer has ended and what worked for you then, may not work for you during theese cold winter months. Here are a few tip to manage and maintain Healthy Tresses during the winter months!

1. Moisture Moisture Moisture
Moisturize your hair daily to prevent the hair from drying, breakage and  also to avoid split ends and dullness.

2 Protect Those Tresses
If you didn't take the time to protect those ends during the nice warm summer months now is definitely the time. Wear a hat, cap or scarf to protect your hair from the harsh cold air and wind. You will experience less damage from not exposing your hair.

3.Limit Use
Direct heat can be very damaging, try to eliminate flat irons curing irons and blow dryers. Every once in a while is ok, but excessive heat will do more harm than good.

4. Deep Condition
Now that your hair is more prone to dryness and breakage retain  more moisture in your hair by adding deep condition to you regimen more often. 2x a week and you will be on your way to healthier tresses.

6.Oils
It is important to not only moisturize but to seal as well. Anytime you moisturize you should always follow up with a natural oil such as almond ,extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil which can actually penetrate the hair shaft for extra moisture. Thicker oils such as caster oil on your scalp is a great way to prevent a itchy dry scalp, but use any one of your choice any one will do.

7.Wet is not always best
ahhhhh those perfect wash and gos so moisturizing and so convenient... Summers over although you can still wear your hair style it inst the smartest thing to wash and go. Never leave your house with wet hair with the cold temps you run the risk of having your hair freeze and break off! Winter should consists of less shampoos and wet styling if you want to prevent breakage.

8. Gentle Handling
Since your hair is more prone to breakage at this time treat your hair like silk. There is  no need to brush 100 strokes a day, you need little manipulation.Always use a wide tooth comb and comb from ends to roots.Do what works for you some ladies swear by only combing on wash days 1x a week but for me that's more knots and tangles and much more breakage.

9.Trim
Just because those ends are tucked away doesn't mean you skip this step.. Trim hair every 8 to 10 weeks to encourage healthy hair. Less tangles on the ends less breakage which is what we all what to avoid!

10. Do what works for you
This is not to be followed eactly but if adding a simply deep condition or moisturizing with a leave in conditioner will protect your hait from damage why not follow this simple easy steps! You need to find what works for your hair type and your hair needs what works for me might not benefit you but these easy helpful tips should guide you in the right direction.
